Gillian Seaman

Gillian started taking pictures as soon as she was old enough to hold a camera. She started entering youth art shows with her images in middle school, and quickly started winning awards. In high school, Gillian had the opportunity to study film photography, including developing and darkroom printmaking. This inspired Gillian to further pursue photography and attend Georgian College for Digital Photography and Imaging. Gillian enjoys expressing emotions and ideas through colour, lighting, and other photographic principles. She is currently working as an assistant and makeup artist for a local photographer.

Gillian has always been involved in the arts. She started singing with the Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus, and later, The South Simcoe Youth Choir, and Toronto Diocesan Choir School for Girls. Gillian attended March Break theatre camps at the Gibson Centre through Talk Is Free Theatre. She was also heavily involved in music in high school, participating in Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Choir, as well as holding the positions of Music Librarian and President of the Music Council, and a Peer Tutor for the Vocal Music Class. Most recently Gillian enjoyed singing with the Sugartones, a women’s barbershop group.

Gillian has helped with the Gibson School Of The Arts as an assistant in music and theatre classes, as well as taking photos. She has also been a councillor for the Toronto Diocesan Choir School for girls, and assistant to the director of the South Simcoe Youth Choir. She is very excited to share her love of photography and hopes to inspire photographers for the future.
